Myra L. Deegan

Myra L. Deegan, 84, of Richmond, WI passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012. Myra was born in Edgerton on March 27, 1928, the daughter of Alfred and Marie (Helland) Schieldt. She married August Herman Deegan on June 22, 1945. The Deegan’s farmed in the Richmond area and Myra was employed by Elkhorn Plastics for 30 years. She was a member of Christus Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richmond. She loved to play cards, enjoyed music and dancing, going to rummage sales, taking pictures and truly liked listening to her husband, Augie when he played music.
Surviving are three children, Gordon Deegan of Richmond, Audrey Nelson of Darien, Joy (Chuck) Curry of Janesville, a son-in-law, Robert Brownstetter Sr., nine grandchildren, Robert Brownstetter Jr., Carleen Brownstetter, Mark (Colleen) Brownstetter, Barbara (Scott) Hembrook, Terry (Brenda Nance) Nelson, Erin (Rich) Stout, Erika (Adrian) Tecua, Lindsey (Mike Winnie) Taylor, Catanya (Noah Nelson) Curry, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ellen Manthe, Nancy Geske, one brother, Sheldon Schieldt,  nieces, nephews and cousins. Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Augie, on March 26, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Avis Brownstetter, a son-in-law, Ronald Taylor, a sister, Avis Schieldt and a brother, Gordon Schieldt.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Christus Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richmond, with Pastor Christopher Koschnitzke officiating. Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Christus Lutheran Church or the family. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville
